CLIL / Content and Language Integrated Learning and the integration of Dutch and English as Learning Medium in a French-speaking setting

A fairly unique research project investigates the interplay between linguistic, cognitive and socio-educational aspects in CLIL, the popular bilingual language learning system advocated by the European Union. Data were gathered in French-speaking Belgium from 928 CLIL and non-CLIL L2 learners of English or Dutch during the last two years of primary and secondary school education. Results of the pupils target language competence, their cognitive and socio-affective profiles and school achievements will be presented.
